Who's behind this
The Under Eye is edited by Mira Lane. We focus exclusively on under-eye care because it's the most-asked, most-confused, most-shouty corner of skincare — and the one where ingredient-led recommendations make the biggest difference.
How we research and rank
Every product in the current index is evaluated against three signals:
- Attributed retailer reviews. We source customer quotes from Amazon, Sephora, Ulta, YesStyle, Olive Young, and Dermstore — including 1-3 star reviews. Every quote is stored with reviewer name, star rating, retailer, and source URL when available.
- Ingredient evidence. We rank ingredients by peer-reviewed studies, not marketing claims. Caffeine for puffiness, niacinamide for pigmentation, PDRN for renewal — we link the studies.
- Retailer breadth. Sold at four retailers ranks higher than sold at one — it signals brand health and makes the product easier to actually buy.
What this does not mean: a catalogue image is not evidence of hands-on testing, an aggregate retailer rating is not our own clinical score, and ingredient research cannot guarantee an individual result. When hands-on observations are added, they must be labeled separately from retailer evidence and accompanied by the testing context.
How we make money
The Under Eye is reader-supported. When you click an affiliate link and buy a product, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We're transparent about which retailers we have affiliate relationships with. Currently active:
- Amazon Associates — tracking tag
lekkerandco-20 - Stylevana via Awin — publisher ID
2880825, merchant ID90791 - YesStyle via Awin — publisher ID
2880825, merchant ID63156
Pending approval: Sephora (Rakuten), Ulta (Impact), Cult Beauty. Links to retailers without an active affiliate relationship are unmonetized — we publish them anyway because the review needs to point to where the product is actually sold.
What we never do: sponsored posts written as reviews, fabricated customer quotes, fake star ratings, fake "low stock" countdowns, or paid ranking. If a brand pays us for placement, it's labeled as an ad. Period.
How to reach us
Spotted an error, a fabricated-looking review, or a brand we should cover? Email Mira directly. We update articles as products change — every review carries the last-updated date, and we link to the dated retailer review page so you can verify quotes yourself.
