Privacy Policy

Short version: we don't sell your data, we use privacy-minded site analytics, and our affiliate links are clearly labelled.

Who we are

The Under Eye (https://theundereye.com) is an independent editorial site that reviews under-eye patches and skincare products. We publish ingredient-backed reviews and earn commissions through affiliate partnerships when readers purchase via our links.

Information we collect

Automatically collected data

When you visit the site, standard web server logs and analytics tools record your IP address, browser type, referring URL, pages viewed, and time on page. This data is used in aggregate to understand how the site is used and is not linked to any personally identifiable information.

Email updates

There is currently no email sign-up form on this site. The live editorial feed is available through RSS. If we add an email service later, this policy and the sign-up form will identify the provider and explain how an address is used before collection begins.

Information you do not provide

We do not run user accounts, comment systems, checkout flows, or an email subscriber database. We do not collect names, postal addresses, or payment information.

Analytics

We use a self-hosted Umami installation to measure aggregate page views, referrers, device categories, and affiliate-link interactions. We do not use Google Analytics or advertising profiles. Umami is configured as a privacy-minded analytics tool and does not intentionally set a first-party tracking cookie on this site.

We track affiliate-link clicks as events (retailer, product, and whether the link is currently monetised). No personally identifiable information is attached to these events.

Data retention

We do not maintain user accounts, checkout records, or a newsletter subscriber list. Standard web-server security logs and aggregate Umami analytics are retained according to the site's operational and security needs rather than used to build personal advertising profiles.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. To make a request, email us at the address on our About page. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have rights under the GDPR. If you are in California, you have rights under the CCPA. We do not sell personal data to third parties under any circumstances.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.
